Azerbaijan has confirmed their participation in the Eurovision Song Contest 2014 to the EBU. Sources from broadcaster Ictimai have confirmed this to ESC Daily. In what way the Azeri will select their entry for Copenhagen is yet to be decided.
Broadcaster Ictimai is currently focussing on their participation in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest. They will inform people about their plans for the big contest in Denmark through their own website. They already have a special Eurovision 2014 page.
Azerbaijan made its debut at the Eurovision Song Contest in 2008 and since the introduction of the semi-finals, Azerbaijan is one of the only two countries to place within the top 10 every year that they have competed.
Today, friday the 22nd of november, is the last that countries can apply for participation in Eurovision 2014. We expect more news from Moldova, Poland, Romania, Serbia and Slovenia as soon as possible.
