French firms may invest in Azerbaijan’s bitumen fields

Azerbaijan’s Industry and Energy Minister Natig Aliyev and France’s former Minister of Emigration, Integration , National Identity and Co-Development of France Eric Besson discussed the possibilities of attracting investors to the development of bitumen fields in Azerbaijan on October 22.

During the meeting, the sides discussed the new investment opportunities in Azerbaijan, cooperation with French companies for attraction of investment, and country’s energy potential, as well as the possibility of cooperation in the field of alternative and renewable energy sources, Ministry’s spokesman Azer Mensimli told Trend new agency on October 22.

France’s ambassador to Azerbaijan Pascal Monnier also attended the meeting.

Later, Aliyev also met with Canada’s ambassador to Turkey, Azerbaijan, Georgia and Turkmenistan John Holmes.

During the meeting, the possibilities of student exchange, training of personnel and the exchange of experience were discussed.

Aliyev emphasized the possibility of signing a memorandum of understanding between the relevant structures on the mentioned issue.
